Sojourner Poetry

THE WAY TO JOY

I cannot find a path that will take me to joy,

Or buy the goods that will bring joy to me.

There is no way to joy that I can discern

Born out of my mind, conceived by my will.

The way to joy is not a path to travel,

Or an event to experience, or a moment to capture.

Rather, joy is the essence of the now-ness of life

Growing from the seeds of nothingness,

Planted in God’s love.
